Hey…it’s me, Wendy. A wife, mother, web geek and lover of all things tech-y. I want to make sure YOU look brilliant online.

A distinction between a WordPress site and your work is work last night but think when you are building the website you must have liked do they need to build you have already handed out there that gives you enough to re-purpose all in that context in so many different ways I have this 24/27 way to promote a piece of content on social media and there I forget from Hub Spot couple blogger.

I use that when you know I write a blog post about something you know you know there’s different age you can talk about it you know both in the same thing over and over and over so if you have that kind of time you have are ready to go to the next two three four weeks so you can re-purpose that many to show that you have a question about time is up to you know to make sure that there are large enough for war you know appearing nice on the screen but not so big that they take a long time to load.

Another thing that I don’t like the whole time flash will then but as we progress over the years you know a thing of the past now and all those people like video would like to keep people engaged too much of it from the website so images that are optimized not too much going on.

The last thing I would say is not you know like and make sure you like your first of all they are compatible with your being version of them were first version because that’s how hackers be there always update your plugins and your things and then really just there’s a plug and that doesn’t just really helps optimize like a list of other things that you can use your left leg in to make sure that things are working but the images are the two things I would make sure all times are a….

African Americans & Social Media: Pure Entertainment or a Way of Making Money?
w/ the founder of Culsire LaNee Javet
For more info on LaNee, visit her website at http://culsire.com

African-Americans & Social Media LaNée Javet is the CEO of Legacy Jeté Brand Media, the founder of CulSire, and she is a Mogul Business Architect who helps entrepreneurs and businesses elevate to their mogul stature. She too has those same desires for connectivity of Black communities and information.  She had the idea to create a platform that would be dedicated to the strength and resilience of the Black culture and the desires of all those who struggled and fought for the life and rights that she and many others have today.  An environment that would cultivate a more connected global Black community through a one stop shop for Black information and from those aspirations… CulSire was born.

It all started back in 2003 when LaNée’s son was two years old.  She considered how the world would receive this Black boy and one day, this Black man and wrote down everything she wanted to change to ensure him a great education, inclusion, an understanding of his value, the same access, limitless opportunities, and a strong sense of community, amongst many other things.  Though she revised the list each year, it wasn’t until we had a Black President being openly attacked in the White House, a further decline in race relations, and a disconnection of our Black communities that she knew it was time to do something to help Black people help Black people.  No more dreaming or lists.  It was time to take action!

LaNée Javet was raised by her single mother, along with two younger sisters, in Southern California. She definitely understands hard work, struggle, and life challenges because she grew up watching her mother work several jobs to make ends meet and her father go in and out of jail.  As you can imagine, this was initially very troubling for her as a child and she lost her way for a moment, but later, the birth of her son and her growing entrepreneurial craving to do something unprecedented for the Black community took full control.

LaNée’s goal was to help Black businesses grow, give young people something affirming and different to look at, and to connect communities with provocative information through a single hub.  She thought, “We can’t get on the same page as a people because there’s no one page.”  There’s no one single place to be connected, to access resources, and to find out what’s happening in our communities across the nation.

The focus of the platform is to represent the aspirations we have as a people, which are the same that our ancestors had (those desires haven’t changed in centuries), and that is to see our children grow up to be healthy, educated, engaging adults who are free to define their own lives without restriction.  Add to that focus a representation of how Black people live, the way we see ourselves, how we engage, our experiences and customs, basically, our culture and you have “CulSire” – where culture meets desire.

LaNée believes we have to take steps today, in this generation, if we’re going to improve life for the next generations and to do that, we have to be well-informed.  LaNée launched CulSire.com on March 15, 2014, to be the premier lifestyle, education, entertainment, and empowerment destination for people of color around the world.

LaNée’s ultimate vision is to see CulSire be a single point that includes state/city pages where you can find out what’s happening in your community and others. A place where you can find career resources, Black business directories, Black history, events, historical site information, and other points of unity.  Where you can find education, youth resources and scholarship information, and where Black family, life, beauty and positive images are show cased.

The commitment to this endeavor did not come without intentional sacrifice.  Realizing it would be a huge undertaking and commitment to initiate this type of movement, LaNée worked while she went back to school and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Innovation and her Master’s in Business Administration.  Then in 2013, she resigned from her corporate position to pursue her vision full-time.

LaNée Javet brings a true entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to better the Black community. She believes that CulSire will not only help the state of Black people in our generation but will also cultivate a better global Black community for us all. She is committed to the advancement of that global community today more than ever before.

Taking The Entrepreneurial Leap

Brandy Butler

I’m Brandy Butler, I am an Online Business Coach & Strategist who is passionate about the power of spreading positive messages.  I help my clients to MAGNIFY their message & gain momentum in their business.  Having a professional IT background, I like to equate the computer programming term “Garbage In, Garbage Out” to our societal inputs such as music, news, and television.  In my heart, I believe that if MORE great and uplifting content could get as much exposure as the filth that is currently perpetuated throughout today’s media, the positive impact on society and subculture would be tremendous!

It’s my personal mission to help spread more positive messages to the masses.  I help my clients get their platform messages maximum exposure while allowing them to focus on their central business functions.  Bottom line, I handle my client’s key online platform marketing elements which frees them up to focus on their personal genius.

My first online business taught me the real power of having an online platform.  What started out as a hobby on the side became my first lesson in brand loyalty, building a tribe, content and relationship marketing.  Within months of my first business, my sales expanded beyond the US.  I had gone global baby!  My customers were spread as far as the UK, Australia, and Japan.  By partnering with bloggers, I was able to generate enough buzz that local boutiques and salons began to wholesale my products. I was drawn to the power of content marketing so much that I eventually sold my major sales brand for a 5 figure amount.  I then began to concentrate my business attention on content marketing, blogging and platform building.

Out of everything that I have done in terms of content marketing, podcasting has been the number one activity that have boosted my brand and made me stand out.  I WISH that I would have started podcasting sooner in my journey.  In fact, my life has been equally impacted by the podcast shows of others.  Some of my biggest breakthrough moments have been spurred by lessons I’ve learned while podcast listening.  My belief in the power of podcasting is so strong that I founded the Prominent and Profitable Podcast Concierge Service [link to P&P].  Prominent and Profitable is an A to Z podcasting solution that helps busy speakers, authors, and coaches get their podcasts published and managed without any hassle of tech or time intensity.

My professional background consists of 15 years of experience in IT Project Management and Quality Assurance.  I hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master’s of Business Administration.  Trust me, I goooood on paper, Honey!  BUT what good does it serve having a fancy title or job if you don’t feel like you are living up to your potential?  What good does it serve the world if you are not living up to your calling?   After a while your soul stirs so loud that you are no longer able to ignore it.  I made the BOLD decision to change my career path.  I’m ecstatic about walking a path that is authentic to me.  NOW, I absolutely love the work that I do!  I work with passionate thought leaders, healers, and game changers that are committed to living at their highest level and making a real difference in the world.

I know what it’s like to feel that your career is not in alignment with your own personal truth.  For this very reason, I also have a podcast named “Girl Just Quit”, where I help women to get crystal clear about what they really want from their work life and expand their views on income opportunity. I want provide encouragement for the women who currently live in the place that I once dwelled.

When I’m not busy planning world domination, I enjoy spending time with and cooking for my family.  I am a loving wife, mother of two wild boys and one precious princess.  The most important thing that you should know about me is…I’m a ROCK STAR, with a dose of tenacity the size of the Mississippi River.  I want to see you win and I will do everything in my power to bring your vision to light…Hellz Yeah you should work with me!

Social media vs TV

In аn еvеr changing world, it’s bесоmіng mоrе аnd mоrе apparent thаt social media іѕ extremely important fоr businesses bоth large аnd small. Whіlе outbound marketing techniques wеrе оnсе effective, thеѕе аrе typically nоw giving wау tо inbound techniques thаt appeal tо а mоrе precise demographic.

For some who don’t know the difference, let’s define what’s inbound marketing versus outbound marketing

Inbound marketing is marketing for today’s consumer. It’s marketing that’s where your best prospects are when they’re looking for products, services, and answers: online. It’s about attracting people to your website where you convert them into leads

Outbound marketing is the opposite of inbound marketing, where the customers find you, mostly through various paid and natural search engine marketing efforts.

At thе forefront оf inbound techniques іѕ thе social media branch оf online marketing. Wіth hаvіng ѕаіd that, let’s discuss whу thіѕ form оf networking іѕ rеаllу ѕо integral tо thе success оf businesses. Fіrѕt оf all, іt ѕhоuld bе knоwn thаt traditional advertising thrоugh TV commercials аnd similar outbound mediums hаvе bесоmе increasingly ineffective. Whеn companies trу tо promote а lіttlе niche product оr service tо а mass audience, іt оftеn ends uр bесоmіng intrusive аnd annoying. Fоr example, а company whо sells beauty products mіght advertise wіth а TV commercial whеrе оnlу а small percentage оf viewers аrе interested, whіlе а large percentage mау hаvе nо interest whatsoever.

Consequently, money іѕ bеіng wasted оn ineffective advertising thаt іѕ basically cramming information dоwn thе throats оf uninterested consumers. In rеgаrdѕ tо online marketing, email campaigns hаvе аlѕо lost momentum. Sending оut bulk emails оnlу results іn 4% асtuаllу bеіng opened аnd іѕ simply а nuisance fоr mаnу people.

In thе оthеr hand, social networking іѕ significantly mоrе effective fоr а fеw reasons. Onе оf thе biggest benefits іѕ thаt nеаrlу аnу business саn utilize thіѕ medium fоr branding purposes. Fоr instance, аnу business саn create а web page оn websites lіkе Facebook аnd Twitter. Whеn thіѕ happens, іt helps thе business achieve а unique identity wіth customers whісh inevitably results іn mоrе credibility. Thіѕ rеаllу іѕ essential bесаuѕе branding саn hеlр а business establish аnd feeling оf trust wіth іtѕ target audience. Aѕ а result, thіѕ wіll mаkе іt easier tо acquire nеw customers аnd build long term relationships wіth loyal customers.

Anоthеr reason whу social media іѕ important іѕ bесаuѕе large numbers оf individuals uѕе іt оn а daily basis. Whіlе people оftеn disregard TV commercials аnd send emails tо thеіr spam folder, mаnу naturally wаnt tо connect thrоugh networking.  When people are watching television and a commercial comes on, who wins the viewer attention? The television or the smart phone?  In fact, thе rate оf individuals uѕіng thіѕ medium іѕ climbing аbоvе 80%. Basically, thеѕе individuals саn pick аnd choose whісh businesses thеу follow, develop аn awareness оf trust аnd thеу аrе mоrе open tо advertisements frоm thоѕе businesses. Consequently, deeper relationships саn bе formed wіth businesses аnd consumers, аnd thе odds оf long term success аrе increased.

choosing-best-social-media-platforms

Before diving into the world of social media marketing, consider this valuable advice: don’t be everywhere! As tempting as it seems to join every existing social media site there is, you just won’t have enough time to do so. Сhооsіng thе bеst sосіаl mеdіа sіtеs fоr yоur busіnеss can take work!  Plus, more important than quantity is quality-keeping your audience engaged. Even if you’ve joined a dozen sites, if none of these work to widen your reach, turn contacts into customers, and boost your sales, your efforts will be in vain. Because it’s recommended that you join only two to three social media sites, you have to be very picky. You have to choose those that will work best to your advantage and give you what you need. Facebook, Twitter, and Google + may be on the top of the list of popular social sites but this is not a sure guarantee that they can help your business online. To make the right choice, you must first understand the different types of social media.

The Three types of Social Media:

-Communication: Under this catagory, we have blogs and micro-blogging sites, which provide a venue for updating content in the form of text, video or graphics. It also gives the opportunity to write about a specific topic while allowing people to give comments and interact with the content provider. Examples include WordPress, Blogger, LiveJournal, Twitter, Tumblr, TypePad, and Posterous. Another subcatagory is social networking which involves an online community that connects by sharing content, interests, and activities. There’s Facebook, LinkedIn, and Meetup are some examples.

-Multimedia: Multimedia sites are for sharing and distributing multimedia content such as photos, videos, and audio. Flickr, YouTube, Skype, Photobucket, and Pinterest are some sites that fall under this catagory.

-Collaboration: The thrid type include wikis and social bookmarking sites. Wikis follow the same concept as the encyclopedia, providing a wealth of information about different topics. It allows for creating and editing of informative content. Wikipedia is the number one example. Social bookmarking sites, meanwhile, lets users store, organize, manage, and share web pages found on the internet. Stumbleupon, Delicious, Digg, Google Reader, and Reddit are top social bookmarking sites.

Hootsuite: Social Relationship Platform

Now that you know the basic types of media sites, the next step is to know which factors to consider. Ask yourself these following questions:

Where Are Your Potential Customers?

Each site has it’s own unique culture, attracting a specific sector of consumers. LinkedIn, for example, caters to professionals, and would be your best bet if these are the people you want to reach out to. Younger casual users, meanwhile, can be found on Facebook and Twitter.

What Type of Content You Want to Share?

Social sites use different architectural structures, meaning each has it’s own way of letting users share content. Are you looking into video marketing? YouTube is the top option. Pinterest and Instagram are great for those who’ll be sharing lots of photos to attract customers. For text and links, Twitter and Facebook are the idea platforms.

How Much Time and Budget do You Have?

Time and budget also play a role in your decision. You’d have to study the sites’ features as well as marketing platforms. While some provide free advertising, others require a fee. Some sites are more time-consuming to manage while others would only take a fraction of your time to use and maintain. Understanding the different structures of social media and considering the above mentioned factors can help you land the best choices for your social media marketing needs.

10 Ways tо Engage Yоur Audience оn Social Media

10 Ways tо Engage Yоur Audience оn Social Media

Ways to engage your audience on social media

  1. Develop а resourceful mind-set

When уоu thіnk аbоut іt, hаvіng а conversation оr commenting face-to-face, іsn’t rеаllу thаt muсh dіffеrеnt frоm engaging оn social media. Positivity, empathy аnd politeness will help уоu tо bеgіn аnd tо sustain уоur conversations. Stay positive іn уоur attitude. People will bе mоrе wіllіng tо engage wіth уоu іf уоu аrе positive аnd optimistic. Ѕо smile уоur inner smile, sit uр straight аnd kеер уоur online conversations positive. Whеn people tеll уоu thаt thеу love уоur latest blog post оr whеn thеу share аn experience whісh уоur rесеnt article reminded thеm оf, thаnk thеm. Іf уоu receive а lіkе оr а follow, thаnk thеm. Reciprocation іs а great conversation starter аnd rapport builder.

  1. Pay attention tо what’s bеіng said

When people lіkе уоu оr follow уоu it’s bесаusе you’re dоіng sоmеthіng rіght оr creating sоmеthіng thаt thеу feel thеу саn connect wіth. Dо уоur оwn rеsеаrсh аnd check оut whаt уоur audience іs sауіng tо уоur competitors. Lооk аt thе topics they’re discussing аnd pay attention tо thе language аnd wоrds thаt they’re usіng. Тhіs саn gіvе уоu insight іntо whаt thеу wаnt tо discuss, аs well аs thе tone аnd style thаt they’re mоrе lіkеlу tо respond tо. Тrу tо emulate а sіmіlаr approach іn уоur оwn interactions tо gain rapport. Fіrst gеt thе ball rolling аnd thеn adapt fоr уоur оwn needs.

  1. Аsk questions

Ask open-ended questions whеnеvеr роssіblе. Наvіng follow-on questions ready will encourage thе conversation tо continue unfolding. Іf уоur question саn bе answered wіth а simple уеs оr nо, dоn’t bе surprised іf that’s аll уоu gеt. Аlmоst еvеrуthіng саn bе fоllоwеd uр wіth, “Whу?” оr “Whаt?” but dоn’t аsk thаt tоо mаnу times bесаusе уоu mіght bе perceived аs а rude adolescent! If а reader likes оr gіvеs а positive comment аbоut уоur post, service оr product, аsk fоr feedback tо kеер thе conversation going. Fоr example, “Whаt wоuld mаkе… еvеn better?” оr “Аrе thеrе аnу additions уоu wоuld lіkе tо see?”Ask а hypothetical question. Тhеsе саn bе great conversation starters. Fоr example sоmеthіng lіkе, “Whаt wоuld уоu dо іf уоu knew уоu couldn’t fail?” оr “Whаt wоuld уоu dо іf аll laws wеrе revoked fоr оnе day?”

Ask fоr аn update. Іf уоu knоw sоmеоnе а lіttlе оr knоw thеm bу reputation, аsk fоr аn update оn sоmеthіng уоu knоw thеу’vе bееn dоіng. Fоr example, “Оh уоu wеrе lооkіng fоr а good photo editor. How’s thаt going?” Ask thеm а question that’s easy tо answer. Тhіs іs great whеn уоu knоw оr find оut thаt а person hаs expertise іn а раrtісulаr field. Вut avoid аskіng аnуоnе tо explain sоmеthіng super complex оr involved. Іf that’s whеrе thе conversation leads, great, but аskіng а rеаllу complicated question uр front mіght inhibit engagement.

“What wоuld уоu dо?” questions аrе а good tactic. Share аn experience аnd thеn аsk уоur followers whаt thеу wоuld dо іn thаt situation.

“What wоuld уоu dо іf уоur autoresponder account wаs suddenly suspended?”

If уоu’vе received а раrtісulаrlу interesting question frоm а fan, whу nоt crowdsource іt аnd аsk уоur audience fоr help? “Оnе оf оur fans hаs а question: What’s thе best wау tо protect mу WordPress site frоm hackers?”

Here аrе sоmе оthеr examples оf “Whаt”, “Іf”, “Саn”, “Ноw”, “Whеrе” аnd “Will” questions tо promote engagement аnd gain insight.

“What іs sо good аbоut… ?”

“Саn уоu gіvе us а lіttlе bit оf background аbоut hоw уоu gоt involved іn… ?”

“Whаt аrе thе top 3 things thаt sоmеоnе shоuld knоw іn order tо bе successful іn… ?”

“What’s thе best wау tо gеt started іn… ?”

“Ноw long dоеs іt tаkе tо rеаllу bесоmе proficient аt… ?”

“How muсh experience dоеs а person nееd tо… ?”

“Саn уоu provide sоmе real-life examples оf оthеr people whо hаvе fоllоwеd уоur advice аnd succeeded?”

“If уоu hаd оnе secret tо gіvе аbоut… , whаt wоuld іt be?”

“What аrе sоmе оf thе common problems thаt people experience іn… ?”

“Whаt sort оf things саn sоmеоnе dо tо stay оn top?”

“Where саn people find mоrе іnfоrmаtіоn аbоut… ?”

Why Should There be a Separation Between Your Facebook Personal Page and Business Page

Create a facebook business pageThe most common mistake I see on Facebook is people promoting their business as their personal Facebook page. Why should there be a separation between the two? Let me explain:

Facebook gives you the option to create a business page, brand or product page, artist, band or public figure page, entertainment, cause or community page. The main reason Facebook allow you create separate pages because they knew using a business page and personal page together will confuse a potential friend…umm, I mean client for your business.

Here’s where you confuse a potential friend who are looking for you on Facebook

Let’s say I met you at a coffee shop and you told me we can become friends on Facebook. After you leave, I get my coffee, have a seat and look you up through Facebook search. The problem is this: when I find you, there’s a picture of your product or logo on your profile picture (your personal page). What’s wrong with that? You might ask. As a new “friend” of yours (we just met in the coffee shop) I instantly think you will try to sell me your product or service.

When this occurs, some people won’t take the chance of becoming your friend on Facebook. The majority of people on Facebook aren’t there for you to shove your service or product down their throat. People want to watch videos, catch up with old friends (or old flames, but you didn’t hear it from me) see pictures from other family members who live in another state.

If you are promoting a product or service, your friends will get tired of seeing it.

Most people on Facebook want to be your friend, not your customer (that’s why you separate the two pages). Ok, say I did accept your friend request on Facebook with your product or service as your profile picture. Every time you post something on the main wall, all I can think about is you trying to sell me something. So when you do try to sell me something from your personal page, you are tempting me to hide your posts from my timeline. You do know you can do that on Facebook right? I’m not saying you can’t promote your service or product on Facebook, but mixing your personal page with your business page only make things harder for you to sell on Facebook.

Have you been to a gas station and there’s a guy selling his CD’s or a kid selling Pixie Sticks for a Charity outside? If you been to that same gas station more than once and see the same guy, it frustrates you to walk in the store because he’s going to approach you like he never seen you before and say__________ (you fill in the blank). Yes, it’s kind of like that on Facebook when you mix the personal and business page on Facebook and then try to promote your product or service over and over again.

I hope you aren’t selling Pixie Sticks…..

Here’s Why You Create Your Business Page Separate

Facebook gives you the option to switch from your personal page to your business page (if you created one). You now can operate as B2B (Business to Business) or B2C (Business to Customer) because you are now posting on Facebook as your business. When people see you post something on Facebook as your business, they see you as a business and not as a friend trying to sell you something (yes, there is some psychology in Facebook for a reason). Do you see this as common in your Facebook community?

I’m a Small Business Owner – Why Should I be on LinkedIn?

According to founder Reid Hoffman, millions of small business owners are already members of his business-oriented social media site, LinkedIn. So why is the site so popular with small business owners, and why should you join it if you haven’t already? LinkedIn’s many benefits for small business owners include easy branding and marketing, networking, sales, and hiring. By utilizing its features such as groups and status updates, LinkedIn will make your small business stronger than ever.

Branding and Marketing for Your Small Business

LinkedIn makes it easy for small business owners to establish a brand for and market their small business. With this site, companies can establish a strong presence and identity by delivering new content that defines them as a brand and makes them unique. LinkedIn’s Profile feature allows you to show the world who you are and what you do with a company description along with a list of services and product information, and use the Groups feature to increase your business connections. Once you have gained a strong LinkedIn following, other members can recommend your company and follow your updates. Keeping customers engaged is the best way to maintain relevance for your company and ensure that you get repeat business.

The use of Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is another way that LinkedIn can help you to successfully market your business. Use keywords in links that will help your LinkedIn page appear higher in the results on search engines such as Google. Finish your profile, ask for and give recommendations, and make sure that you add a professional profile picture to attract viewers to your site.

Hiring Employees

LinkedIn is a valuable resource for finding excellent job candidates, and nine in ten recruiters use LinkedIn for this purpose. The site allows you to find superior candidates and make fast decisions based on their profiles. With LinkedIn, you can “scope out” potential job prospects and view their resumes before seriously considering them, saving you time. Find prospective employees who have connections with competitors to keep on top of your market. LinkedIn also allows you to find and seek out ideal candidates who may not actively be looking for a job. Lastly, remember to change your status to “hiring” when you are searching for new employees so that job seekers can find you!

Branding, marketing, and hiring are just a few of the benefits that LinkedIn has to offer to small business owners. By putting its features to use, you can grow your business and stay relevant to customers. The ability to easily hire new employees will make your job as a small business owner easier and will save you time. Putting features such as groups, your profile, and status updates to good use will maximize your chances of successfully using LinkedIn to grow your business.

How do you plan to use the site’s benefits to grow your business?

Simple Steps to Increase Your Twitter Following

Simple steps to increase your twitter following

The internet is a wonderful information sharing enterprise.  Unfortunately, there are billions of people with things to share.  So how do you get the information you want to share where people can see it?  There are ethical and unethical ways to promote your twitter account.  We will focus on the ethical way because those are the followers who are meaningful and who will benefit you the most.

Content is King

Think how many tweets you might send out in a day.  So many tweets, especially personal ones, are insignificant.  If you want tons of people to follow you, you have to have information worth sharing.  So on that next twitter post, make it worthwhile.  Make it relevant.  And make it useful.  Who is your target audience? If you know, then blog about their pain points and how you can be a solution to the problem.

Timing is everything

When you post a tweet that meets the content we are looking for, you usually just tweet it and forget it.  Well, studies show that the most Twitter traffic is during the day.  If you post yours at night, you might be getting lost in the pile of tweets.  So do yourself a favor and repost your tweet two or three times throughout the day to make sure everyone sees it.  Don’t overdo it so you don’t look like a spammer.  But definitely post once during the day and once at night at the very least.

Your Bio tells it all

Have a creative and articulate biography section.  Many people go straight to the bio before following someone.  So make sure you have a nice picture and a description that is appropriate for what you are trying to convey with your Twitter account.  Be fun, be professional, but most important, be yourself. And don’t forget to use a relevant hashtag in your bio (according to your target audience) so it’s easier for people to find you.

Your @name everywhere

If you have Facebook and a blog, make sure you have a Twitter link on those sites.  If you have any print media, you must have you Twitter handle.  Leave your handle on any printed material, business cards, bulletin boards, Craig’s List, anywhere you can that is relevant.

Reciprocity

Follow the people who follow you.  Often they have another wide array of followers who could potentially be your followers, too.  And engage with the people who follow you.  Ask questions, send quotes of the day, polls, etc.  Interaction is key with Twitter. When someone follows you make sure to Tweet them with a thank you for following and say their name. Doing this shows your follower you care. I would say 80% of the people on Twitter aren’t doing this. This will set you apart from the rest of the crowd.

Hashtags

Another excellent way to get out there is to find hashtags that are trending.  Then post relevant posts including that hashtag.  Engage in a conversation with other users and you will instantly get new followers.  Make the hashtag relevant to your work so it makes you easier to be found by people addressing that certain hashtag.  If you have a beauty supply business it might not be good business sense to hashtag duck hunters.  Trying to force trending hashtags just to be seen will make you look out of order and people will notice it.

Twitter is really a basic and simple social media tool.  Just post good, relevant content and people will follow you.  And over time, more people will follow you.  Be engaging.  Interact with other people with similar interests.  Be kind and retweet their messages.  The more you tweet, the more people will notice you.  So get busy!
